Job Description

Job Summary:

At La Panciata Bakery, the Delivery Driver plays an essential role in ensuring that freshly baked products reach our retail partners safely, accurately, and on time. This position is responsible for delivering bread products to various locations through Direct Store Delivery (DSD) routes while maintaining product quality and providing excellent customer service. The Delivery Driver represents the bakery during each customer interaction and helps ensure smooth daily distribution operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery & Route Operations Safely and efficiently deliver fresh bread products to retail locations along designated delivery routes. Ensure products are delivered on schedule and in proper condition. Follow established delivery routes and schedules while communicating any delays or issues to management. Load and unload delivery vehicles with bakery products in an organized and safe manner. Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately according to delivery invoices and route sheets. Inventory & Product Handling Verify product quantities against delivery documentation before leaving the bakery and at each delivery stop. Properly store and transport bakery products in the delivery vehicle to maintain freshness and prevent damage. Report inventory discrepancies, damages, or missing products promptly to management. Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation. Customer Service & Communication Interact professionally with store managers, staff, and receiving contacts at delivery locations. Address customer questions or concerns in a courteous and professional manner. Communicate customer feedback, delivery issues, or operational concerns to ownership or supervisors. Vehicle Safety & Maintenance Operate delivery vehicles safely while following all traffic laws and company policies. Perform basic vehicle checks before each route (fuel levels, cleanliness, safety equipment, etc.). Maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle and report any mechanical issues, accidents, or damage immediately. Ensure compliance with all applicable driving and safety regulations.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong time management and route planning abilities. Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules efficiently. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail when verifying orders and delivery documentation. Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent delivery schedules. Ability to operate delivery vans or small box trucks safely.

Full-time, part-time, or per-diem positions may be available depending on business needs.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous delivery, logistics, or customer service experience preferred Experience with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) is a plus Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns beneficial

Physical Requirements:

Lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift Load and unload delivery vehicles independently Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting Ability to work early morning delivery routes Ability to work in varying weather conditions during deliveries

Pay:

$17.00

•$18.50 per hour Expected hours: 30.0

•40.0 per week
