Job Description

Community Transportation Drivers are responsible for ensuring that low-income senior citizens, low-income people with disabilities, and other low-income individuals have safe and reliable transportation that supports access to non-emergency medical care and other needs. Position will be up to three days a week (M-T). Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Follow and implement the program guidelines as prescribed by the state of West Virginia, ModivCare., the Agency, and any other regulating agency Operate vehicle in compliance with all regulations, including pre-trip check Maintain tracking systems, such as schedule changes, passenger contacts, mileage, Medicaid/MTM billing, customer donations, maintenance schedule, and others Accept and manage customer donations Communicate with customers to confirm trip details Maintain clean and organized vehicle Request necessary maintenance in timely manner Ensure assigned phone is in working order and present during all outings Complete safety checklists Make customer referrals, as appropriate, to other agency programs Assist with customer outreach, customer satisfaction and community needs assessments surveys Perform housekeeping duties to achieve highest standards of facility cleanliness; maintain general grounds
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time Must be able to tolerate loud/high pitched noises on daily basis Must be able to climb steps and ramps up to 80 times throughout the work day Must be able to work inside/outside in cold/moderate/hot temperatures Must be able to maneuver easily within a 24 inch wide opening Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 pounds Must be able to push/pull a minimum of 150 pounds as needed, including the operation of a wheelchair lift or ramp, pushing or pulling an occupied wheelchair Must be able to walk on various surfaces a minimum of 2 miles throughout the work day Must be physically and mentally capable
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred Certifications as required by the State of West Virginia, the Agency or other regulating agencies
Other Requirements:
A valid driver's license and proof of liability insurance, Five years driving experience Acceptable pre-employment criminal background check, protective service record check, substance abuse screening, driving record, and others Participate in random drug screening Regular physical examinations documenting job fitness, Able to obtain and/or maintain other licensing, as required. Examples include CPR and First Aid, P.A.S.S certification, etc. Class D driving endorsement required within 7 days employment
