Sailing Vessel Tour Boat Part Time Captain Kraljack Maritime Services Clearwater Beach, FL Job Details Contract 21 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications USCG Master License Magnetic compasses Guest relations In-person customer service Yacht operation Maritime piloting Maritime radar-based navigation Sail propulsion GPS navigation Full Job Description Part Time Fill-in licensed (with Sail endorsement) Captain needed for a well-established Sailing Vessel tour operation out of Clearwater Beach. The boat is a 52 foot Steel Custom Built Staysail Schooner. You must have minimum 25 ton US Master license with Aux Sail Endorsement in hand. 100 ton+ preferred. You must have extensive verifiable experience on moderate to large sailing vessels and verifiable experience on tour boats where you have constant interaction with the guests. The boat does steady 2 hour public trips as well as intermittent Private Charters and Memorials. The boat is certified for up to 48, but we typically operate with a max of 22 plus Captain and Mate. The true focus is on the experience for the guests. The regular Mate is highly experienced and has worked aboard for several years. We offer a laid-back yacht experience without the usual gimmicks of the tour boat industry. The majority of sailing is in the Gulf. Experience in Clearwater Harbor is highly Desirable, especially with a deep draft vessel (6ft). We are looking for a clean cut, professional, experienced, energetic, and friendly/easy going Captain who will be an extension of what we have become known for - friendly, personal service and a True Sailing Experience at a reasonable price. Unlike many tour operations, you operate the vessel among the guests and are expected to interact appropriately throughout the trip. We are a small family owned and operated company. The owner is the primary Captain. The pay is per trip plus shared gratuity with the Mate. Majority of bookings are made online so you come to the boat for a confirmed trip - you are not waiting around the marina all day. During the slow season we are looking for someone to be scheduled for 1 or 2 trips a week (these are almost exclusively sunset) with flexibility to work more as needed. There will also be opportunities to assist with minor maintenance, marketing, etc. for extra income, though not required. The more flexible you can be, the more we will utilize your skills. The right fit will be first on the list for substantially increased time during the upcoming busy Season (Late Winter/Spring) if you would like to work more, or you can stay on as part time / fill-in - your choice. We are currently only looking for someone who has all the above credentials and experience and only needs training on the specifics of the vessel and the operation. Thank You.
