Lift Boat Captain/Slickline Operator

Job Description

Overview Join Kenosis Marine as a Lift Boat Captain and Slickline Operator, where you will lead the operation of specialized offshore lift boats and execute critical slickline services on oil rigs and drilling sites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the oil & gas industry, ensuring safe and efficient deployment of equipment while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. As a key player in crew management and operational execution, you will be instrumental in supporting offshore drilling activities with precision, expertise, and enthusiasm. Responsibilities Operate lift boats safely and efficiently, overseeing all vessel movements and positioning during offshore operations. Conduct slickline operations on oil rigs, including deploying and retrieving wireline tools for well intervention, maintenance, or data collection. Manage crew members effectively, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Troubleshoot equipment issues related to pumps, rigging, cranes, and pumping systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity. Maintain detailed logs of all operations, including safety checks, equipment usage, and procedural documentation. Adhere strictly to OSHA regulations, safety protocols, PPE use, respiratory protection requirements, and heavy equipment operation standards. Collaborate with team members to execute horizontal drilling activities and other construction-related tasks on-site. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in oil rig operations, pump operation, rigging, and heavy equipment handling. Proficient in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions quickly to maintain operational efficiency. Skilled in pipeline management and understanding of pumping systems used in offshore environments. Experienced in crew management with the ability to lead teams effectively under demanding conditions. Knowledgeable about OSHA safety standards and construction site safety protocols. Outdoor work experience in challenging environments with a focus on safety and precision. Familiarity with crane operation, construction experience, and the use of PPE including respiratory protection gear. Background in horizontal drilling techniques within the oil & gas sector is a plus. $39.00 - $42.00 per hour
