Pump Operator - Ship Yard

Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic shipyard team as a Pump Operator, where your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will operate and maintain various pumps and heavy machinery essential for construction and shipbuilding projects. Your skills in handling construction site equipment, adhering to safety regulations, and performing routine maintenance will ensure the safe and effective movement of materials and fluids across our site. Responsibilities Operate a variety of construction machinery including concrete mixers, loaders, backhoes, cranes, and front loader trucks to support shipyard construction activities. Manage material handling equipment operation such as roll-off trucks and farm machinery to transport materials safely across the site. Maintain and inspect hydraulic systems, mechanical components, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Follow all equipment safety procedures, occupational safety regulations, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) diligently during operations. Perform routine maintenance on pumps, cranes, heavy machinery, and hand tools to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Assist with construction site tasks requiring precise operation of heavy equipment like Caterpillar machinery, hydraulic loaders, or forklifts. Ensure adherence to safety standards by conducting regular safety checks, participating in safety meetings, and reporting hazards promptly. Experience Proven experience operating construction site equipment such as concrete mixers, cranes, loaders (including front loader trucks), backhoes, and roll-off trucks. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance on hydraulic systems and construction machinery. Hands-on experience with material handling equipment operation in a construction or shipyard environment. Familiarity with occupational safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction site safety procedures. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with experience in commercial truck driving preferred. Pay:
$13.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
