Job Description The Driver-Large Store Delivery is a non touch freight position and will make deliveries to customers along their assigned route. What your day will look like:
Transports and unloads products to customers
Communicates any store level issue to management
Complies with DOT rules for driving purposes
Maintains rapport with customers
Ability to work with a handheld device
Establish positive relationships with all customers, as well as providing superior customer service
Provides feedback and recommendations to leadership on competitive threats and business opportunities as they arise
Ability to work with all functional team members
Communicates any store level issue to management
Responsible for safeguarding company assets
Collection of any breakage or out of date product, including empty shells and pallets
Accurate accounting for all cases and customer transactions
Ensure proper care of product, equipment, and route settlement daily
Build strong relationships with customer base across assigned customers
Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum of 21 years old
- Class A Commercial Valid Driver's License required, and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral
- instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to operate a manual or motorized pallet jack
Physical Requirements Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc. (X) None = 0% (0 hrs) (L) Limited = 1% (1 hr) (O) Occasionally = 2
