Duties Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized recovery vehicles, to tow and recover a variety of vehicles. Execute vehicle recoveries with precision, following cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading procedures. Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting, minor mechanical repairs, and automotive diagnostics to assess damage or operational issues. Load and unload vehicles carefully, ensuring compliance with safety standards and mechanical best practices. Utilize mechanical knowledge and automotive repair skills to perform minor repairs or adjustments on recovered vehicles when necessary. Manage conflict situations professionally, providing excellent customer service during stressful or challenging recoveries. Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and recovery details for reporting and compliance purposes. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving is essential. Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, minor repairs, and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers. Proficiency in automotive repair, flatbed operations, manual transmission handling, and basic vehicle troubleshooting. Strong understanding of cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks. Excellent driving skills with experience operating tow trucks and performing vehicle recovery towing operations. Ability to manage conflict effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Prior experience in automotive diagnostics, car towing, or vehicle mechanics is highly desirable.
