Job Description
Job Summary Join our team as a Truck Driver and become a vital part of our logistics operation! Eskridge Trucking is a family owned and run company since 1988. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting wood products across various routes, utilizing your expertise in commercial truck driving. Your focus will be on delivering raw wood products efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations. Our truck drivers are home every night, with no requirements of over the road driving. Duties Operate tractor-trailers containing wood chips, bark, sawdust, shavings and/or logs, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Safely load and unload product, ensuring proper handling of cargo and materials in compliance with local and federal regulations. Transport wood products to the desired location with precision and professionalism. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to guarantee safety and compliance. Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery documentation, and compliance records for each trip. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving. Strong knowledge of trucking regulations including FMCSA, DOT, and safety standards. Ability to load raw wood products into an open top trailer with equipment, while adhering to safety protocols. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with hauling wood chips, bark, sawdust, shavings, and/or logs is a plus.
