Job Description

Hydro Vac Truck OperatorJob Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Hydro Vac Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a combination hydro vac truck, performing various excavation, cleaning, and maintenance tasks. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining equipment in excellent working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Operation & Safety :
Safely and efficiently operate a hydro vac truck to perform jet cleaning of new and existing sanitary and storm sewer pipe sections, as well as hydro excavation (day lighting) of underground utilities.
Maintenance & Upkeep :
Conduct routine inspections, daily DOT pre and post trip inspections, and minor maintenance on the truck, including checking oil, hydraulic fluid, and coolant levels to ensure proper operation.
Cleaning & Excavation :
Perform Hydro Excavation on Job Sites and other areas, Jet cleaning of Sewer and Storm Drain pipe. Vac and Clean Liftstations and other tasks.
Equipment Care :
Maintain the cleanliness of the truck, both inside and out, to uphold a professional appearance.
Compliance :
Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience :
Previous experience operating a hydro vac truck, conbination truck or similar equipment is preferred.
License :
A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements is required. Must have a tank endorsement.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Safety Knowledge :
Strong understanding of safety procedures and best practices related to hydro excavation and sewer maintenance.
Work Ethic :
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in confined space entry, first aid, a good clean driving record, are an asset. Experience with municipal sewer and water systems. Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor equipment issues. This position offers a great opportunity for a dedicated professional to work in a dynamic and essential industry.
