Job Description

Garbage Truck Driver Overview We are seeking a dependable Garbage Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves operating various types of commercial trucks, including garbage trucks and dump trucks, to efficiently transport waste materials and other loads. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety protocols. Responsibilities Operate front loader garbage truck, dump trucks, in compliance with safety standards and traffic laws Load and unload materials safely using appropriate equipment such as front-end loaders when necessary Drive route-specific vehicles for municipal waste management and solid waste collection Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, state transportation laws, and safety protocols during all operations Communicate effectively with customers to ensure timely deliveries and pickups Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump trucks, air brake systems, and manual transmission operation Strong understanding of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and state transportation laws governing commercial driving Mechanical aptitude for basic truck maintenance and troubleshooting Customer service skills for interacting professionally with clients during collection or delivery services Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and work outdoors in various weather conditions Experience with route driving, load & unload operations, and operating equipment like front loaders is preferred This position requires a dedicated individual committed to safe driving practices, efficient route management, and maintaining the highest standards of safety compliance.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
