Non- Exempt Position Purpose The main purpose of the Truck Driver position is to safely and efficiently transport Hilltop Ranch, Inc. product to and from the Oakland, CA port. The Driver may also do bin pick-ups, hopper field runs, and other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transport containers of Hilltop Ranch product to and from the port in Oakland, CA
- Bin pick-ups on flatbeds and hopper field runs
- Maintain e-log
- Responsible for pre and post trip inspections
- Clear communication with dispatch at the beginning, during and the end of the shift
- During off season other duties as assigned
- Follows and ensures adherence to established Hilltop Ranch, Inc. local, state, and federal regulations and requirements as well as food safety, sanitation, food production and nutritional guidelines.
- Establishes and ensures adherence to procedures and standards, which are in agreement with these regulations, requirements and guidelines.
- Ability to follow, comply and enforce all safety policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- Class A Driver's License, with TWIC Card and Double Axle endorsements
- Clean Driving Record
- Must meet DOT requirements; medical examination certificate, and pass post offer and random drug tests.
- Able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) is helpful
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with groups-team oriented personality
- Organizational skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Will occasionally stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, taste and smell.
- Will frequently sit and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch
- Must use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously.
- Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
- Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 60 pounds frequently.
- Must lift with arms up to floor to waist, waist to shoulder 60 pounds.
- Must be able to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 12 hours/throughout the shift.
- Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- May work near moving mechanical parts.
- May work around wet or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and/or risk of vibration.
