Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight including hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, refrigerated cargo, flatbed loads, and tanker shipments with precision. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and reduce transit times. Handle logistics cargo with care, ensuring proper load & unload procedures while maintaining truck loading and unloading safety protocols. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform manual handling tasks for cargo management, and report maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and compliance records in accordance with hazardous materials regulations and trucking industry standards. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries, update progress, and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers required. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving across diverse environments. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods handling. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with manual handling of cargo preferred. Strong navigation skills using GPS systems; ability to plan routes efficiently for OTR driving routes.
