DAVE WILSON NURSERY COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVER

Department Transportation / Logistics Reports To Transportation Manager Employment Status Seasonal (October-March) Pay Range $21.00-$23.00 per hour Location Hickman, California FLSA Status To be determined Position Summary The Commercial Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of Dave Wilson Nursery products to customers. The position operates Class A and Class B commercial equipment, including tractor-trailers and box trucks, while complying with applicable DOT regulations and company safety requirements. The driver represents Dave Wilson Nursery while interacting with customers and is expected to provide professional, courteous service during deliveries. This seasonal position may require overnight travel based on operational and delivery requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A and Class B commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and box trucks.
• Transport nursery products to customer locations safely, efficiently, and according to assigned delivery schedules.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractors, trailers, and other assigned equipment.
• Identify and report vehicle or equipment defects and complete required DOT inspection documentation.
• Maintain required driver logs and Hours-of-Service records using an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Safely maneuver commercial vehicles on public roadways and at customer locations, including loading areas and delivery sites.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain required delivery receipts.
• Assist with loading and unloading trailers and delivery vehicles as required.
• Verify and protect products during transportation and delivery.
• Provide excellent customer service and professionally represent Dave Wilson Nursery when interacting with customers.
• Communicate delivery issues, equipment concerns, delays, or other operational problems to the Transportation Manager.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable commercial driving regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of assigned equipment.
• Be available for overnight travel when required by delivery schedules and operational needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
• Valid commercial driver's license appropriate for the equipment being operated.
• Must meet all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) driver qualification requirements and maintain required qualifications throughout employment.
• Must successfully complete required pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and participate in applicable DOT and company drug and alcohol testing programs, including random, post-accident, reasonable-suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing when required.

Pay:

$21.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
