Overview We are looking for a commercial driver for our Dry van operations from Stockton (150 miles to Reno, NV (50 miles). On an average it will be 3 trips per week back n forth. Easy to stay compliant with Logs. We are looking for a candidate with clean driving record, good communication skills and acquire good Trucking Knowledge. It is a good position for a family person as it's not a completely longahul operation and more of a local work going from Valley/Bay side to Reno and home. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual or automatic transmissions, on designated OTR routes. Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring proper cargo handling and securing loads according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain schedule integrity. Transport various types of freight, including hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, refrigerated items, and general cargo, following all hazardous materials regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and securing equipment. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit. Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type operated. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving within OTR settings. Familiarity with truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods. Experience operating refrigerated trailers or flatbed/trailer types such as tanker is a plus but not required. Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during load & unload processes. Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems to follow designated routes accurately.
