Job Description
NCI Affiliates, a respected local non-profit with over 50 years of service, is seeking a dedicated Box Truck Driver/Warehouse Distribution Support team member to join our Client Services Department. This full-time role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive impact in the community by supporting adults with developmental disabilities. As part of the Braided Day Program, you will split your day between vocational training and educational support, helping individuals develop essential life and work skills. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to our mission of promoting independence and inclusion, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. Responsibilities Drive a box truck to transport donated items and distribute inventory between thrift store locations. Assist with loading and unloading items, including furniture and other heavy donations. Support and train individuals at retail sites, focusing on vocational growth and skill development. Facilitate customer pick-ups and ensure timely, courteous service. Maintain accurate records, including daily cash, inventory, and deposit documentation. Follow internal operating procedures to ensure quality and compliance with contract requirements. Work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals and adapt to varying needs. Qualifications Valid driver's license (required for driving responsibilities). Ability to pass a LiveScan background check. Reliable transportation to and from work sites. Patience, compassion, and the ability to serve as a positive role model for adults with disabilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and needs. Physical ability to lift and move heavy items such as furniture. Experience driving a box truck is preferred. Basic computer and technology skills. Compensation The anticipated pay for this full-time position is $23 per hour , with paid lunches and opportunities for career growth.
