In person Daily Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailer combinations and flatbed and 53' vans, in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition. Maintain accurate records and logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, deliveries, and service or repair status. Check all load-related documentation to ensure it is complete and accurate. Secure cargo properly using straps, chains, binders, blocks, covers, or other approved equipment . Maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading positions while following directions from loading personnel. Couple and uncouple trailers by connecting or disconnecting air and electrical lines and operating fifth-wheel mechanisms. Read and verify bills of lading, delivery instructions, and other transportation documents. Follow assigned routes and delivery instructions while complying with applicable weight, safety, and transportation regulations. Drive to weigh stations when required and ensure vehicle and cargo weights comply with applicable regulations. Inspect trailers before and after loading or unloading and report any damage or safety concerns. Load and unload materials or assist with loading and unloading as needed. Verify the quantity and condition of materials being transported. Operate vehicle communication and onboard equipment, including radios, telephones, and truck computers, as needed. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, cargo damage, or other incidents to the appropriate supervisor. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels and reporting maintenance needs. Remove debris from trailers and maintain a clean and safe work area . Comply with company policies, DOT regulations, and all applicable safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Previous Class A commercial driving experience preferrably handling flatbeds and 53'vans. Clean and safe driving record. Ability to safely operate tractor-trailer combinations and maneuver trailers in loading and unloading areas. Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and safe driving practices. Ability to inspect, secure, load, and unload cargo safely. Ability to complete required driving logs and transportation documentation accurately. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including loading, unloading, securing cargo, and climbing in and out of vehicles. Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety. Must be able to pass a required drug screening and basic physical.
