In this role, you and a team member will be responsible for safely operating a box truck/straight truck to deliver freight to our local customers efficiently and on time, ensuring excellent customer service throughout each delivery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment where safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction are top priorities. You will be the face of our company, interacting directly with customers while ensuring accurate and damage-free deliveries. Duties Safely operate a box truck for local and deliveries, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks Ensure proper weight distribution and securement of loads to prevent shifting during transit Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels to guarantee safe operation Navigate route driving directions efficiently while maintaining punctuality and professionalism Interact courteously with customers during delivery appointments, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns Maintain accurate delivery logs using mobile devices or digital tracking systems; complete all necessary documentation for each shipment Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky items, minimizing risk of injury or damage Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with warehouse experience Ability to pass a background check and drug screen Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling equipment operation (such as pallet jacks), and heavy lifting techniques Ability to adhere to traffic regulations, DOT standards, and safety protocols at all times Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients and team members Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation, documentation, and communication purposes Physically capable of performing manual lifting up to 150lbs
