(26 ft Box Truck) Looking to hire a driver in or around Fairfield, Connecticut that is OTR ready. Must have clean driving record, ELD experience, and open to stay out 2-3wks minimum over the road. Please have valid license and medical card. Zero drug use will be tolerated. Pay out is 25% of each load. Serious inquiries only!!! Duties and Expectations Safely operate box trucks for local and regional deliveries, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes using mobile devices or GPS systems to optimize time and fuel consumption. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking lights, brakes, tires, and load security, to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Load and secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit; unload deliveries at customer locations with care and professionalism. Provide excellent customer service by interacting courteously with clients during deliveries, addressing inquiries, and ensuring satisfaction. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports; communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route status or any issues encountered. Skills Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on box truck operation, delivery driving, or courier services. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, manual handling, heavy lifting, and safe lifting practices. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently; familiarity with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks is a plus. Excellent driving skills with adherence to traffic regulations and DOT standards; experience with route driving preferred. Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with clients during deliveries. Competence in using mobile devices for navigation, communication, and route management. Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks involving weight handling in the workplace safely.
