Job Description

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) Master the
Road:
Safely operate our tractor-trailer trucks and on-board hydraulic systems along assigned routes to collect and deliver solid waste or recyclables to landfills, MRFs, or transfer stations.
Keep It Secure:
Ensure every load is properly tarped, secure, and clear of loose trash before hitting the highway, and make sure the trailer is fully emptied at the dump site.
Stay Connected:
Partner with CSRs and supervisors by providing trailer numbers, net weights, daily route sheets, and pre-/post-trip safety inspection reports.
Safety & Maintenance First:
Keep your rig in top shape by performing daily vehicle checks, reporting mechanical issues promptly, and keeping the cab clean. Be the

Represent our brand with pride by wearing required PPE, maintaining a professional demeanor with customers and the public, and helping improve route efficiencies. What We're Looking For (Requirements & Skills)
Driver's License:
A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with knowledge of air brakes.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience OR a certificate from an accredited CDL school.
Maneuvering Skills:
Proven ability to safely navigate minimum clearance spaces and back up distances of approximately 120 feet or more using mirrors.
Heavy Lifting:
Ability to regularly lift up to 10-25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Safety Focused:
Strong commitment to federal, state/provincial, local, and company safety policies.
Adaptable & Dependable:
High school diploma/GED desired; flexibility to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform overtime as needed. Why Join GFL?
