Job Description

Job Summary Drivers are responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of patients from their homes to medical appointments, as well as to and from the Abuelitos Medical Center. This includes both medical and non-medical activities, always ensuring respect, compassion, and professionalism. Responsibilities Safely transport patients following designated routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrival to appointments. Communicate effectively with the Dispatcher regarding route progress and any necessary changes. Maintain a professional image and comply with the Transportation Policy. Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate assistance to all patients. Communicate clearly with staff and patients regarding appointments. Notify patients about the nature and details of their appointments when required. Use professional language when addressing patients and staff. Demonstrate urgency and compassion, especially when assisting patients in pain or discomfort. Safely assist patients entering and exiting the vehicle, including transporting wheelchair patients across paved and unpaved surfaces. Operate GPS devices and/or possess strong knowledge of local routes. Perform daily vehicle inspections, ensuring cleanliness and proper maintenance. Comply with Time Clock Policy and all company regulations. Report any incidents, delays, or accidents immediately to the Dispatcher. Perform other related or assigned tasks as directed by the supervisor. Skills Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record . 3+ years of professional driving experience (transportation or medical preferred). Strong communication skills (English and Spanish preferred). Excellent customer service skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused attitude. Ability to assist patients safely, including those with mobility challenges. Reliable, punctual, and able to follow detailed instructions. Knowledge of GPS systems and local routes. Ability to handle unexpected situations with professionalism.
