Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver specializing in grapple truck operations to join our dynamic waste management team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized trucks equipped with front loaders, rear loaders, roll-off containers, and dump truck features to efficiently manage municipal and solid waste collection. Your expertise in heavy lifting, mechanical knowledge, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure smooth daily operations while supporting environmentally responsible waste disposal. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community cleanliness and sustainability through expert driving and equipment handling. Duties Safely operate various types of commercial trucks including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers, ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws Load, unload, and secure waste materials using front-end loaders and grapple attachments on trucks, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials in accordance with hazardous materials regulations Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment such as air brakes, flatbeds, and heavy-duty hydraulic systems to identify maintenance needs or safety issues Load and unload waste containers at designated sites with precision, utilizing manual transmission skills and mechanical knowledge for efficient operations Follow all safety protocols including defensive driving techniques to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of team members and the public Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, vehicle inspections, fuel usage, and delivery records in compliance with DOT regulations Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate pickups, drop-offs, and route adjustments as needed Experience Must have a mininum of two years experience operating a Grapple Truck Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) experience driving heavy-duty trucks such as front loaders, rear loaders, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers preferred Proven driving experience in municipal waste management or solid waste collection environments is highly desirable Demonstrated knowledge of heavy machinery operation including front-end loaders and grapple attachments and skid steer experience Experience adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations as well as state transportation laws governing commercial vehicle operation Strong understanding of safe lifting techniques for heavy loads and mechanical troubleshooting skills for routine maintenance tasks Prior delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures using various truck types is advantageous Grapple Truck Operation will be required during interview Join us if you're ready to drive forward your career in a fast-paced environment where safety meets efficiency!
