CDL Driver:
Safely operate Mayflower transportation vehicles, including a 27-passenger bus , to transport residents to scheduled events, outings, performances, and community destinations. Provide courteous, professional, and resident-focused service throughout each trip. Assist residents with safely entering and exiting vehicles as needed. Assist with mobility devices and reasonable transportation accommodations. Review trip schedules, manifests, destinations, departure times, and transportation instructions before each scheduled outing. Arrive with adequate time to prepare the assigned vehicle and ensure timely resident departures. Maintain communication with the Lifestyles Department and Front Desk regarding departures, arrivals, delays, or changes to transportation plans. Conduct required pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, safe, and ready for service. Maintain trip logs, mileage records, inspection documentation, and other required transportation records. Immediately report vehicle maintenance concerns, accidents, incidents, or safety concerns. Follow all traffic laws, Mayflower safety procedures, and transportation policies. Support transportation for community holidays, special events, and internal programs as scheduled. Assist with resident package delivery and other transportation-related departmental needs when not actively driving. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Lifestyles. Schedule & Availability This position was specifically created to support our evening and weekend transportation needs . Applicants should have flexibility to work: Sunday afternoons Select Saturdays Weekday evenings Occasional holidays and special community events Typical shifts are approximately 4-6 hours and may include afternoon performances with shifts beginning around 11:30 AM-1:30 PM or evening performances with shifts approximately 5:30 PM-10:30 PM. The schedule will vary based on the community's event and performing arts calendar. Approximately 15-20 hours per week are anticipated, with heavier scheduling during the performing arts season.Qualifications Required:
Valid driver's license and current CDL appropriate for operating a 27-passenger bus Clean and acceptable driving record Ability to safely operate passenger transportation vehicles Ability to work evenings and weekends Dependable and punctual attendance Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional while assisting older adults Ability to follow transportation schedules, safety procedures, and written instructionsPreferred:
Previous experience driving a passenger bus, shuttle, senior transportation vehicle, school bus, or similar commercial vehicle Previous experience working with older adults or in senior living, hospitality, transportation, or customer service Experience assisting passengers with walkers, wheelchairs, or other mobility devices All job applicants are required to successfully complete an AHCA Level 2 Criminal Background Check.
