Job Description
Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors company, is hiring a Local Class B Route Driver to support environmental services across the Utilities & Energy sector. In this field-based role, you'll operate Class B trucks to collect used oil, waste, and recyclable materials from industrial, automotive, and commercial customers on scheduled routes. You'll complete pre/post-trip inspections, follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety procedures, and maintain accurate manifests and ELD records. Drivers serve as the face of Safety-Kleen, delivering excellent customer service while supporting sustainable waste management and recycling programs with opportunities for training and career growth. Responsibilities Operate Class B trucks on local routes to collect used oil, waste, and recyclable materials from customer sites. Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required DOT documentation. Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe loading/unloading. Maintain accurate manifests, route logs, and electronic logging device (ELD) records. Provide professional, customer-focused service at each stop, addressing basic service questions and issues. Handle, load, and secure materials safely, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams. Coordinate with dispatch and operations on route changes, service issues, and scheduling. Report vehicle defects, incidents, and safety concerns promptly to supervision. Adhere to environmental and regulatory compliance standards during all pickups and deliveries. Participate in required training, safety meetings, and ongoing development within the Clean Harbors organization.
