In this role, you'll be the backbone of our logistics operations, transporting freight efficiently across regional and over-the-road routes. Your expertise in handling various types of cargo, including refrigerated goods and hazardous materials, will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Safely operate a company-provided commercial pickup truck on regional and OTR routes while maintaining compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Safely transport freight and maintain professional communication with dispatch, brokers, customers, and receivers. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any safety, mechanical, or maintenance issues. Properly load, secure, transport, and unload freight in accordance with FMCSA cargo-securement requirements and company procedures. Assist with loading and unloading freight when required, using appropriate equipment and safe handling practices. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS and navigation systems while considering delivery schedules, road conditions, fuel efficiency, and applicable restrictions. Maintain accurate logs, delivery documents, bills of lading, inspection reports, and other required transportation records. Communicate with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, breakdowns, route changes, and other issues that may affect the load. Maintain the cleanliness and professional condition of the company vehicle and equipment. Follow all company safety policies and applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations. Provide professional customer service at pickup and delivery locations. Maintain responsibility for the safe and timely delivery of assigned freight. Skills Valid Drivers License with a safe driving record. Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations. Hotshot, flatbed, or gooseneck experience preferred. Strong cargo loading and securement skills. Proficient with GPS and route planning. Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Strong communication and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and safely.
