Granite Excavation is seeking an experienced heavy haul driver. Applicant must have a Valid Class A CDL, medical card, pass a DOT drug test.

Job Description :

Safely and Properly load and secure oversize construction equipment such as haul trucks, scrapers, dozers, excavators, loaders, etc. Must be able to use common sense and job site knowledge to keep yourself from getting into a bad situation. Must be able to communicate effectively with foremen and crews on the ground. Must be able to follow directions and understand that things change quickly in construction and your daily tasks are known to change rapidly. When there is no equipment to move you will be hooking onto a gravel trailer to run for the day.. Primary responsibilities Work well with coworkers and customers; maintain professionalism and follow safety standards Experience with heavy haul, wide/oversize loads, and 53-ft lowboy trailers Experience operating heavy equipment to assist with loading trailers safely and efficiently. Excellent, verifiable driving record and ability to meet FMCSA regulations Valid CDL , current DOT Medical Card ; tanker and hazmat endorsements preferred Follow foreman instructions and meet daily jobsite expectations Ensure timely pickups and deliveries and manage job-related stress Maintain cargo records, hours, and delivery details Inspect, clean, fuel, and maintain truck and equipment Report incidents, defects, violations, hazards, or malfunctions Verify delivery instructions and routes before transport Review work orders or schedules to determine operations or procedures. Extensive Knowledge on Performing daily inspections of truck Maintenance Skills, able to perform maintenance tasks that help ensure the truck meets compliance and other safety standards Operating vehicle using safe and courteous driving techniques Ability to perform minor repairs and routing maintenance on vehicle Traffic Regulations Transporting equipment and/or materials to job sites Operating equipment safely and efficiently by following proper loading and unload procedures Additional Qualifications & Specialized Training requirements First Aid & CPR Additional Requirements Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly Adapt to changing schedules and irregular sleep patterns Work in extreme conditions (vibration, noise, temperature) Load/unload freight up to 50,000 lbs and lift 10-50 lbs Perform vehicle and cargo inspections Install tire chains and handle heavy tarps/straps Bend, stoop, crouch, and inspect under vehicles Frequently enter/exit cab and climb ladders Granite Excavation, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
