Duties Safely operate CDL tractor-trailers, including waste collection trucks, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and refrigerated trailers across designated routes. Follow GPS navigation systems to ensure timely pickups and deliveries along OTR (Over the Road) routes. Load and unload waste materials using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts while complying with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards. Adhere strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous goods handling protocols. Manage logistics cargo handling efficiently to optimize route productivity and ensure proper documentation for each shipment. Maintain vehicle safety by conducting pre-trip inspections, routine maintenance checks, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials, including proper load securing and documentation. Communicate effectively with dispatch using GPS navigation tools to navigate complex routes and address any on-road issues proactively. Load & unload waste or freight at various sites while maintaining safety standards; operate equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Document all activities accurately in logs, incident reports, and delivery records to ensure transparency and accountability. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on waste management or logistics cargo handling preferred. Valid CDL license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions is highly desirable. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or similar heavy-duty vehicles preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures related to dangerous goods transportation. Experience in route driving within OTR settings or local delivery driving environments is advantageous. Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely; forklift certification or experience is a plus but not required. Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures along with logistics cargo handling skills necessary for efficient operations. Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS systems; ability to adapt quickly to changing routes or schedules.
