Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and security. Manage the transportation of various types of freight including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and roll-off containers. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including brakes, lights, tires, and load securement. Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while adjusting for traffic or weather conditions to optimize performance. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, fuel consumption, and inspection reports in compliance with company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing exceptional customer service. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial driving, including route driving and delivery operations. Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with various truck types such as flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Experience with freight handling and load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment when necessary. Knowledge of safety regulations related to trucking operations and cargo securement standards. Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and maintain accurate documentation throughout shifts.
