The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires adherence to safety regulations and a commitment to delivering excellent service. Run Available Depart the FedEx terminal in Champaign IL with a set of doubles dispatching between 6:30-8:30AM Tuesday thru Saturday. The driver will create a set of doubles and leave the Champaign terminal and meet with another driver with doubles in Waddy, Kentucky (about 275 miles from the Champaign Terminal). The trailers are exchanged and the driver returns from Waddy, Kentucky back to the Champaign terminal. The driver would call into the office each morning and confirm the time the trailers will be cut (most common time is 7AM). This run pays $325.00 per day and is contracted to run 5 days a week (Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) each week. Depending on the needs of the applicant, this job can be for 3 day per week (Saturday, Tuesday & Thursday, rotating 3 and 4 days a week, 4 days a week (add Friday), rotating 4 and 5 day a week schedule, or 5 days a week (add Wednesday). The tractor is a 2024 Volvo Daycare automatic transmission. Duties Drive either a day cab or sleeper tractor trailor. Follow assigned routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays encountered during transport. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to commercial driving. Dedicated line haul run with the driver home on a daily basis. Run originates around midnight. Skills Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL). Knowledge of route driving and navigation skills for efficient delivery. Familiarity with safety protocols related to commercial driving and freight transport. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
