Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks, trailers, to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operations with manual transmission and manual handling skills. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials transportation regulations. Strong knowledge of route driving, logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading procedures, and freight management. Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Ability to comply strictly with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations for safe transportation of dangerous goods. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in delivery driving preferred. Physical ability to handle manual tasks associated with load securing and cargo management; comfortable working in various weather conditions.
