This fall we're adding a production kitchen on the west side of Bloomington and a location in Nashville, Indiana. Soup now has to move between places every day, and we need someone reliable to move it. THE JOB You pick up sealed, chilled buckets of soup at our production kitchen on the far west side of Bloomington and deliver them downtown and to Nashville and to wholesale clients. On event days you haul soup and supplies to the event site. Every run has a set departure time and a set arrival time. Your job is to hit the arrival time, every time, with the soup cold and the buckets intact. You'll run every weekday morning, Monday through Friday, starting at our kitchen at a set time and finishing by early afternoon. Most weeks that's 15 to 20 hours. Soup has to be at each location before it opens, so the morning runs aren't flexible. Afternoon runs and weekend runs come up now and then around events and in our busiest weeks in November and December, and we'll offer them to you first, but they're the exception. This is an independent contractor (1099) role at $30 an hour, all in. You cover your own vehicle, gas, and mileage. Paid every other week. We're looking to get someone started in October and will move quickly with the right person. You'll do two paid training runs before your first full week.

WHAT WE NEED

Your own reliable, weatherproof vehicle with covered cargo space for 8 to 12 five-gallon buckets. SUV, van, hatchback, or a truck with a cap. An open bed doesn't work. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, current auto insurance. You can lift and carry 40 pounds repeatedly and load and unload on your own. You answer your phone during your runs. You're early to everything. This job works because soup shows up on time, and there's no one behind you to cover a late run. No food service experience needed. We provide the insulated transport containers and thermometers, we'll show you how we pack, label, and keep soup at temperature on the road, and we handle the food safety paperwork.
