Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our logistics team. This role involves operating tractor-trailers across various routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight to diverse destinations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial truck driving. (OTR) This position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient logistics operations while adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Candidates with a strong focus on safety, manual handling expertise, and route driving experience are encouraged to apply. Duties Operate tractor-trailers safely across over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with all FMCSA and DOT regulations. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to adhere to delivery schedules and optimize routes. Load and unload freight safely, employing proper manual handling techniques to prevent damage or injury. Transport automobiles and other specialized cargo with precision and care. Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading, manifests, and inspection reports. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to maintain vehicle safety standards. Ensure proper securing of cargo during transit, especially for hazardous or dangerous goods. Maintain logs of driving hours in accordance with FMCSA regulations and complete all required reports promptly. Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate route planning and address any logistical issues. Uphold safety standards by adhering to hazardous materials regulations and DOT requirements at all times. Experience Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a valid CDL A license. Demonstrated expertise in driving tractor-trailers, including manual transmission vehicles. Prior experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or hazardous materials is highly desirable. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time tracking. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight transportation. Understanding of FMCSA regulations regarding hours of service, load securement, and safety protocols. Delivery driving experience with a focus on route efficiency and customer service is preferred. Ability to manually load/unload freight safely while managing different types of cargo. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations concerning transportation of dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
