That success is due in large part to the dedicated people-from drivers to office administrators-who deliver those services faithfully every day, year after year. Job Summary Homewood Disposal is looking for a dependable and safety-minded Roll-Off Truck Driver to join our team in Plymouth, Indiana. This position is responsible for servicing customer locations, delivering and retrieving roll-off containers, and transporting collected materials to designated disposal or recycling facilities. The right candidate takes pride in safe driving, dependable service, and representing the company professionally in the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate a roll-off truck safely and efficiently on assigned routes. Deliver, exchange, and retrieve roll-off containers from customer locations. Transport waste and recyclable materials to designated disposal or recycling facilities. Follow daily route assignments and communicate with dispatch as needed. Inspect the truck and equipment before and after each shift. Safely position and secure containers for transportation. Report mechanical problems, equipment damage, accidents, or unsafe conditions promptly. Communicate professionally with customers and address routine service questions or concerns. Notify dispatch or management of access issues, blocked containers, road hazards, or other conditions that could affect service. Complete required driver logs, inspection reports, and other daily paperwork. Keep the assigned vehicle clean and properly maintained. Follow all company safety policies and applicable DOT, state, and federal regulations. Participate in required safety meetings and training. Assist other members of the operations team when needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Education and Experience High School Diploma or Above Previous roll-off, waste, recycling, or similar commercial driving experience is preferred. Skills and Qualifications Minimum 1 year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL . Current Class B or Class A Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement . Minimum age of 21 years . Acceptable driving record. Current DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Successfully complete required pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical examination, and motor vehicle record review . Strong customer service skills with a professional and respectful approach toward customers and coworkers. Demonstrated integrity and reliability. Good time-management skills with the ability to complete assigned routes and responsibilities safely and efficiently. Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Ability to communicate effectively with dispatch, management, coworkers, and customers. Physical Requirements & Work Environment and Conditions This is an active, hands-on position that requires working outdoors around heavy trucks, containers, and equipment. The driver must be able to: Safely enter and exit a commercial truck throughout the workday. Sit for extended periods while operating the vehicle. Stand and walk as needed while servicing customers. Operate truck controls and roll-off equipment. Bend, reach, push, pull, and perform other movements necessary to complete the job. Work safely in varying weather conditions. Maintain awareness of surrounding vehicles, equipment, pedestrians, and other potential hazards.
