Transport Driver - Independent Contractor Mello's Transit is looking for dependable independent contractor drivers in the Parsons and Chanute area. This is a flexible, on-demand driving opportunity. Drivers are offered rides as they become available and may choose whether to accept or decline each ride. Hours and income are not guaranteed and will vary based on customer demand and the rides you choose to accept. What You'll Do Transport customers safely to local and long-distance destinations Complete rides such as medical appointments, work transportation, airport trips, and other scheduled transportation Communicate professionally with Mello's Transit and customers Arrive on time for accepted rides Keep your vehicle clean, safe, and reliable Follow all traffic laws and drive professionally How It Works You use your own vehicle You are responsible for your own gas, maintenance, and vehicle expenses Ride opportunities are sent to you by text or phone You may accept or decline individual ride opportunities Work may include local rides and longer-distance trips Compensation is per completed ride, not an hourly wage Payment is generally made the following day after a completed ride There are no guaranteed hours or guaranteed number of rides Requirements Valid driver's license Reliable personal vehicle Appropriate insurance/coverage required for the transportation work performed Safe driving record Reliable smartphone and GPS/navigation Dependable and punctual Professional and respectful with customers Must be comfortable with both local and long-distance driving
