(Department of Transportation) regulations Spill response Full Job Description Job Summary The Pumper Driver / Liquid Waste Technician is responsible for servicing interior and exterior septic tanks, grease tanks, grease traps, and related liquid waste accounts. The technician operates company pump trucks, mini pump trucks, box trucks, and related equipment safely and professionally. The position requires varied start times, availability for after-hours or emergency response when assigned, and the flexibility to assist other Clear Choice departments, including plumbing, drain cleaning, pipe lining, jetting support, spill cleanup, and other field operations as business needs require. Responsibilities
- Service interior and exterior septic tanks, grease tanks, grease traps, pump chambers, holding tanks, and related liquid waste systems.
- Operate pump trucks, mini pump trucks, box trucks, and related equipment in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
- Prepare for each service job by ensuring the truck is ready, required tools and supplies are available, and the route or work order is understood before departure.
- Perform all work in accordance with Clear Choice Drains policies, DOT requirements, safety rules, environmental requirements, and customer-specific site rules.
- Complete assigned pumping work, service calls, emergency calls, spill cleanup, jetting support, and related field duties in a timely manner.
- Provide professional customer service at each job site and communicate customer questions, site issues, needed repairs, access problems, or service concerns to dispatch or management.
- Complete and submit service paperwork, quotes, tickets, photos, disposal records, inspection forms, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain communication with dispatch regarding job status, delays, route issues, emergency calls, disposal needs, equipment problems, and completion of work.
- Follow all company instructions regarding disposal locations, unloading, manifests, paperwork, and tank capacity limits. Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required; CDL Class A or B required if assigned to operate commercial pump trucks requiring a CDL.
- Must meet company, insurance, DOT, and safety requirements for vehicle operation.
- Prior experience with septic, grease trap, pumping, vacuum truck, drain cleaning, plumbing, or related field service work preferred.
- Ability to safely handle hoses, fittings, tools, covers, supplies, and field equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors, in commercial kitchens, around tanks, and in varying weather and site conditions.
- Must be dependable, responsive to dispatch, customer-service oriented, and willing to perform varied duties as assigned.
Pay:
$27.78 - $33.46 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
