SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

To meet the transportation needs of residents. The driver will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
• Transport passengers to designated locations.
• Load and unload passengers as necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of them.
• Operate wheelchair lifts as needed.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with staff, customers, and other team members.
• Follow schedules and routes provided by management.
• Provide exceptional customer service, including assisting passengers with boarding and disembarking.
• Handle any unforeseen circumstances or emergencies that may arise during transportation.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Works in well-lit ventilated areas.
• Moves continuously during working hours.
• Is subject to frequent interruptions.
• Travel in a closed vehicle daily.
• Work is mainly performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather and heat and humidity.
• May be required to drive in challenging traffic conditions.
• Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
• May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents and family members.
• Communicates with the medical staff, nursing staff, and other department supervisors.
• Works beyond normal duty hours when necessary.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
• Subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to mechanical parts and chemicals including odors.
• May at times be required to wear a facemask, gown, and/or gloves.
• Likelihood of occupational exposure to blood, bodily fluids and other potentially infectious materials.
• May have exposure to dust, asphalt, and noxious fumes from the vehicle.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extended periods of standing and walking.
• Daily pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally lift weight up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, and 20 lbs. overhead.
• Occasionally push, pull and carry weight up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements and pushing and pulling.
• Occasional kneeling and squatting.
• Ability to communicate clearly to Residents and other staff.

Pay:

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
