Job Description
Description SUMMARY:
The Driver Lead assists and reports to the Transportation Manager/Production Manager. The Driver Lead assists in the management of everything that has to do with routing, collection and bin placements. The Driver Lead is a seasoned and a proven responsible driver, who does all jobs assigned by the Manager to help make the collection run smoothly and maximize the pounds.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(other responsibilities may be assigned):- Check drivers in and out, including:
- Truck assignment, vehicle inspection, ensuring that drives have correct paperwork and promptly leave for their routes. Sign bin keys in and out.
- Run collection routes and pick up overflows as needed.
- The Driver Lead may have a few regular routes assigned on a weekly basis, or may just run routes that are uncovered due to driver call out.

- Audit drivers and Routes
- Investigate Theft
- Conduct internal/external investigations
- Verifying that routes are being run as planned
- Verify bins fully emptied
- Verify drivers are driving responsibly
- Fix bin issues in the field
- Replace locks and barcodes and other minor bin maintenance
- Replace bins on sites
- Attend to dumping and trash issues
- Assist the manager with routing
- Reroute collection routes and territories
- Monitoring the truck tracking applications
- Ensure that the collection Database is updated in a timely manner.
