Job Description

DeWitt Lumber Company, a family owned and operated business has a job opening for a full-time position on our yard staff, for customer service. This opening is responsible for accurately pulling and assembling loads for shipping, loading, unloading, and moving materials for our customers. Loading materials onto trucks, verifying the materials match the order, records any damages or shortages, and place materials where they belong in the yard. Ability and desire to work directly with our customers and vendors. Experience in building material or lumber is preferred but not required. Chauffer's or CDL Class B license and forklift license is a bonus. Pay is based on experience. At our company, we offer competitive wages and a great benefit package. Responsibilities:
Take care of all customers that enter the yard. Loading and unloading materials from delivery trucks. Inspecting, measuring, marking and sorting lumber and building materials. Maintaining and notifying managers of inventory records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Filling orders and providing excellent customer service. Load materials safely and accurately into/onto a customer's vehicle. Verifies load ticket to ensure accuracy for unloading and loading materials. Accurately write up returns on all product that comes back. Put away stock product as it comes in. Keep stock product level and organized to prevent warping or product damage after loading a customer. Keep the yard clean and organized at all times. Help with other areas in the yard including deliveries, if needed.
