Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods. Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured correctly on flatbed or tanker trailers. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to follow optimized routes for timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with FMCSA regulations. Transport refrigerated trailers, automobile transportation units, or other specialized freight such as hazardous materials or hazardous goods. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure safety standards are met before and after each trip. Load & unload cargo accurately, managing logistics cargo handling processes to prevent damage or loss during transit. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with DOT regulations. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license. Hands-on experience with delivery driving involving freight, route driving, and truck loading/unloading procedures. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and hazardous materials regulations related to the transportation of dangerous goods. Demonstrated ability to operate trucks with manual transmission safely over long distances on OTR routes. Prior experience in logistics cargo handling and truck loading/unloading operations preferred.
