Responsibilities for Garbage Truck Driver Operate trucks and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Transport waste safely to designated locations. Provide excellent customer service to Chisago Lakes Sanitation customers. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Communicate daily with office, dispatch and other team members as needed. Completes daily route documentation. Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving on public roads. Assist with minor mechanical repairs or maintenance as needed. If you see something, say something. Engages courteously with co-workers, dispatchers, and customers to ensure that all services are performed in a timely and professional way. Qualifications for Garbage Truck Driver Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) A or B with Air Brakes endorsement Valid Health Card Knowledge and comfortable with routing Reliable and dependable Safe driving record Previous experience with garbage trucks (I.E., automated side load, front load, rear load and/or roll-off) Ability to perform physical duties such as pushing, pulling, bending and lifting throughout the workday Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices We look forward to talking with you!
