Yard & Transfer Station Operator

Yard & Transfer Station Operator Tom Kraemer Inc. has an immediate opening for a full time Yard/Transfer Station Operator. Tom Kraemer Inc. has been a family owned company since 1938 and continues to provide employees with a positive, fun, safe, success-driven work environment. We are currently seeking a Yard/Transfer Station Operator to support our Cold Spring, Buffalo and St. Cloud operations. This is a swing position that spans transfer station duties and yard operations, offering variety and the opportunity to build skills across multiple facets of our business.

Primary schedule:

Monday through Friday. Paid holidays, paid vacation, health, dental, vision insurance and 401(k) with an employer match are some of the many benefits. CDL holders receive a pay differential.

Primary Duties of This Position:

Operates transfer station and performs yard operations across multiple locations, including sorting and routing incoming loads to the appropriate dumpsters and designated landfills Conducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance to keep operations running safely and efficiently Operates equipment safely and efficiently Loads, unloads and stages debris and materials to be hauled to other locations as needed Maintains a neat, organized and safe work area at all times Accurately documents daily activities including loads handled, equipment status and any issues encountered Communicates effectively with team members, supervisors and customers as needed Serves as a backup operator for related positions across other locations Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

CDL preferred — pay differential provided for CDL holders Previous equipment operating experience Safety-first mentality with a commitment to following all required safety policies and procedures Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team Ability to switch between tasks fluidly in a fast-paced environment Clean, detail-oriented and organized Ability to lift 40 lbs and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions Willingness to assist with a wide range of tasks as business needs require Positive attitude and professional demeanor •The company provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
