On the road Responsibilities Safely operate a box truck on local and over-the-road (OTR) routes to deliver freight promptly. Load and unload cargo with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring the integrity of freight such as hazardous materials or temperature-sensitive goods when applicable. Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimized delivery routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Securely load, unload, and manage logistics cargo handling for various types of freight Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and compliance records. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety and compliance with all DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered during transport. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating vehicles with manual transmission is highly desirable. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance standards essential for safe operation. Prior experience in load & unload procedures, truck loading/unloading techniques, and logistics cargo handling required. Strong understanding of GPS navigation systems and over-the-road (OTR) driving routes to ensure efficient deliveries across multiple locations.
