The Opportunity Responsible for transporting FG/materials (ex. Rolls, corrugated, corner boards, etc.) to and from the plant while following all Safety and DOT procedures. Occasionally deliver loads to customers and assist in loading/unloading FG's truck both external and internal with accurate shipments. Verify that all FG's shipped match case and barcode labels, as this is Conover's last defense in avoiding mixes to customers. Maintain housekeeping and 5S to standards set by management. Follow all WestRock Core Values and Behaviors. Additional job duties as assigned by department manager. Key Responsibilities Maintain a valid Class A CDL and safely operate commercial vehicles to transport materials and products as required. Perform loading and unloading of trailers while ensuring product integrity and compliance with safety procedures. Wrap and secure pallets for shipment to ensure loads are stable and protected during transportation. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and organize inventory within shipping and warehouse areas. Conduct routine inspections of vehicles, trailers, and equipment to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance. Utilize computer systems and sit at a computer terminal to enter data, update shipping records, and complete required documentation. Walk throughout the shipping and warehouse areas to monitor operations, verify shipments, and coordinate material movement. Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Follow all company safety policies, transportation regulations, and procedures while performing daily tasks. Assist with general shipping, receiving, and warehouse duties as assigned to support operational needs. What You Need to Succeed Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) required with a satisfactory driving record. Previous driving and transportation experience preferred. Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience required. Ability to safely load and unload materials, products, and shipments. Ability to wrap and secure pallets for storage and transportation. Basic computer skills with the ability to enter and maintain data using computer systems. Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods as needed. Ability to walk throughout shipping, warehouse, and production areas regularly. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Strong commitment to safety and compliance with company policies and transportation regulations. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
