CDL Driver & Landscaping
Job Description
CDL Driver must possess a great deal of physical and mental stamina. Must be organized, detailed oriented, and comfortable working independently. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience is a must.
•In addition to CDL Position, must be willing to assist in the Lawn Care Department as needed.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicleDrive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
Pick-up and safely transport goods, materials, etc. to intended destinationEnsure contents are properly secured in truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injuryPerform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each tripAlways ensure your vehicle is kept cleanMaintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encounteredMaintain detailed driving and delivery logsTrack and report working hoursAdhere to company rules and regulationsObey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditionsComply with ICC and DOT regulationsMake safety a priority at all timesCan operate and load construction equipment for transportation to other sites CDL Truck Driver Requirements and QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent preferredValid commercial drivers license (CDL) required2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving preferredClean driving record with no moving violationsMust pass background check and drug testSkilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehiclesAlert, focused, and detail-orientedPhysically and mentally fitAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. at a timePossess great physical stamina and focus during long driving shiftsAble to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
Proficient using GPS and other routing systemsDisciplined, dependable, and resourcefulHigh level of composure and good stress management Must be willing to perform other duties as required in the Lawn Care Department to include:
Perform all tasks of operations including but not limited to mowing, line trimming, blowing, leaf and debris removal, weeding, edging, hedging, raking and mulch installationMix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
Proper use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
Unloading/loading equipment and materialsWash dirty equipment {including all mower decks} and return to approved storage location. Report damaged or broken equipment to management immediately.
Fill trucks, mowers, equipment, and cans with fuel additive & fuel in preparation for the next day (or as necessary)Adherence to the companys employee manual & procedures as required from all employees
