Job Description

Contract Lumber is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to safely deliver building materials, lumber, and framing packages to homebuilders and job sites across North Carolina. You will operate late-model tractors and flatbeds, secure loads, complete accurate delivery documentation, and maintain DOT and company safety standards. This hands-on role works closely with dispatch, yard, and field teams to ensure timely deliveries, quality service, and jobsite support. Responsibilities Safely operate Class A CDL tractor and flatbed or similar equipment on regional routes in North Carolina Load, secure, and unload lumber and building materials using proper tie-down and safety practices Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, including bills of lading, manifests, and electronic logs Communicate with dispatch, yard, and field teams to meet delivery windows and resolve issues Provide professional, courteous service to homebuilders, contractors, and jobsite personnel Report vehicle maintenance needs and assist in keeping equipment clean and in good working order Support yard and jobsite operations as needed, including basic material handling or staging loads Required Skills Class A CDL driving DOT regulations compliance Flatbed and lumber hauling Load securement and tie-downs Defensive driving Vehicle inspection and maintenance checks Electronic log devices (ELDs) Route planning and time management Bill of lading and delivery paperwork Forklift or moffett operation
