Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers within the yard, ensuring that all freight is organized and accessible for loading and unloading. Our focus is on maintaining smooth operations, enhancing safety protocols, and providing exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities Operate yard tractors to maneuver semi-trailers and equipment within the yard or warehouse. Position trailers at loading docks to facilitate the efficient loading and unloading of goods. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure operational efficiency. Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to coordinate trailer movements. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized yard environment. Qualifications Valid driver's license: A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required for certain positions. Excellent driving and maneuvering skills, particularly in backing and docking trailers. Physical stamina to operate equipment and fulfill job demands for extended periods. Strong attention to detail for accurate inspections and documentation. Effective communication and problem-solving skills to address various challenges in the yard Previous experience in a yard driving or truck driving role is preferred but not mandatory.
