Paid by the mile; pay based on experience and open for discussion during the interview process About Southern Resin Southern Resin is a privately owned manufacturing company located in the Thomasville, NC area. We are looking for a dependable, safety-conscious Class A CDL Tanker Driver to join our transportation team. This position is ideal for an experienced professional who takes pride in safe driving, reliable deliveries, and representing the company professionally on the road. Position Summary The Tanker Truck Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation and delivery of company products to customers and other designated locations. The majority of routes are completed Monday through Friday , providing a consistent work schedule while still offering the opportunity for qualified drivers to earn based on miles driven. The driver must have a valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements , or be willing and able to obtain the Hazmat endorsement within the first 90 days of employment . Key Responsibilities Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer tanker. Transport and deliver products safely and efficiently to designated customer locations. Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures. Properly inspect the tractor, trailer, tanker, and related equipment before and after trips. Complete required logs, delivery paperwork, inspections, and other documentation accurately. Safely load, transport, and unload products in accordance with company procedures. Maintain awareness of hazardous materials handling requirements. Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and company personnel. Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and report any maintenance or equipment concerns promptly. Follow established routes and delivery schedules. Represent Southern Resin professionally while traveling and interacting with customers. Perform other transportation-related duties as needed.
Qualifications Required:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) . Tanker endorsement required. Hazmat endorsement required or the ability to obtain it within the first 90 days of employment. Safe driving record and commitment to following DOT regulations. Ability to safely operate a tanker truck and perform required pre- and post-trip inspections. Dependable, professional, and safety-focused work ethic. Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with dispatch and company personnel.
Preferred:
Previous tanker driving experience. Previous experience transporting hazardous materials. Previous OTR, regional, or route delivery experience. Experience working in a manufacturing or chemical-related environment. Schedule & Travel Approximately 95% of deliveries are completed Monday through Friday . While the position is primarily a Monday-Friday route, there may occasionally be a need to: Return from a trip on a Saturday. Depart for a route on Sunday afternoon. Weekend travel is not the normal schedule and would be based on business and customer delivery needs. Compensation Paid by the mile Compensation is based on driving experience Pay is open for discussion during the interview process Additional details regarding routes, mileage, and compensation will be discussed during the interview.
