Responsibilities Operate flatbed and tow trucks safely to recover, load, and transport vehicles, including those requiring vehicle mechanics for truck drivers or minor mechanical repairs. Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting, automotive diagnostics, and minor mechanical repairs as needed to ensure vehicle operability during recovery. Securely load and unload vehicles following cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit. Manage vehicle recovery towing operations efficiently, including vehicle mechanics for truck drivers and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks. Interact professionally with customers, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to provide clear communication and resolve conflicts effectively. Follow all safety guidelines related to cargo securement, manual transmission operation, and safe driving practices for commercial truck driving. Maintain detailed records of recoveries, vehicle conditions, and operational logs to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred. Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, and basic vehicle troubleshooting. Hands-on experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbeds or other specialized recovery vehicles like cargo securement protocols. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally. Knowledge of load & unload procedures, safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks, and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers. Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and conduct automotive diagnostics efficiently. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities. Physical ability to load/unload vehicles repeatedly while following safety standards; comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
