Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight, goods, and equipment across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, excellent driving skills, and experience handling different types of cargo, including hazardous materials. Responsibilities Safely operate various commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or truck loading/unloading equipment while following proper safety procedures. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving in various environments. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operation, flatbed hauling, tanker transport, and handling of hazardous or dangerous goods. Proficiency with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments. Ability to load, secure, and unload freight safely while adhering to logistics cargo handling standards. Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers with manual handling skills. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with over-the-road (OTR) routes preferred. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as manual handling of freight or cargo in compliance with safety standards.
