Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves operating tractor-trailers within local routes to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and have experience handling various types of freight, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and dump trucks. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks on local routes Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns Maintain proper documentation for deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs Follow route schedules efficiently, optimizing delivery times and fuel consumption Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes Skills Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred Knowledge of operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is advantageous Proven driving experience with freight delivery in a commercial setting Ability to load & unload freight safely and efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when required Strong understanding of route driving and navigation within local areas Excellent safety awareness and adherence to DOT regulations Good communication skills for coordination with dispatch and customers Physical ability to handle the demands of truck driving including long hours on the road and occasional lifting tasks This role is ideal for drivers committed to safety, punctuality, and professionalism in local freight delivery operations.
