Lumberyard Associate

Hamilton Building Supply is seeking a Yard Associate to join the operations team. The Yard Associate is responsible for responsible for helping customers to load orders and keeping the yard and warehouses neat & tidy. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized and safe yard environment at all times and providing exceptional customer service. Pay is commensurate with experience. Yard Associate:

Pull products and prepare them for customer pick-up. Safely operate a sit-down rider forklift and maintain a valid forklift certification. Assist in loading and unloading trucks. Provide general assistance and customer service to contractors and homeowners. Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse and yard. Notify Operations Supervisor of low stock items or no stock items. Assist Operations Supervisor with inventory control, including counts, receiving, and quality checks Follows yard guidelines to maintain safe working environment (i.e. speed limits, safe lifting and wearing PPE, etc.) Load box trucks for Fleet team as needed. Assisting customers with rental of Penske trucks. Safely and efficiently refilling propane tanks for customers and maintain a propane tank filler certification. Qualifications of the Yard Associate High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of experience in a yard, warehouse or construction environment Ability to operate forklifts, loaders and other yard equipment (required) Able to lift up to 50 pounds and 100 with assistance and work in various weather conditions. Knowledge of building materials is a plus
